IndiNature Team Development
As IndiNature moves into its next phase, we welcome new team members and say thank you to key parts of the team moving on.
Welcoming new colleagues
Joining IndiNature as UK Sales Director is Brian Monaghan, a building engineer by trade with a track record in insulation sales particularly in engineered foams and External Wall Insulation. Brian will be supported for the next phase by David Watson joining as Sales Manager based in Edinburgh, with a lifetime of experience in construction and insulation sales.
Moving into permanent roles, Bryan Tappenden joined as Head of Finance in 2023 supported by Antonio Pellicci as Finance Assistant. Both roles have been made permanent in 2024, alongside the outstanding team of Jennie Gibson promoted to People & Policy Manager and Nina McKeown as Supply Chain Manager.
Graeme Purves has also been promoted to Operations Manager after excellent leadership of the first two years of production at the IndiNature Mill.
Thank you!
We would like to say a huge thank you to Nick Evangelisti who served as IndiNature Sales Manager for the first two years of the company’s product sales from 2022 - 2024, and is moving on to his next challenge from the new year. Nick’s relationships and experience helped establish UK wide distribution with natural fibre insulation specialists and regional merchants, delivering just under £1M sales and managing initial market entry.
Radostina Stoeva, Architectural Technologist, will also be on maternity leave from Spring 2025, and we wish her and family well for the new arrival! Maternity cover for technical support is currently being recruited.
Board & Executive Leadership Team
After 8 years as an IndiNature cofounder and director, and 5 years as an executive director leading business development, in agreement with the board from December 2024 Sam Baumber is moving on as the company reorganises the senior leadership team in advance of the next phase.
Following significant effort supporting the establishment of the first IndiNature Mill, market entry and certification, and after recent development of the Board and senior leadership team earlier in 2024, it is time for Sam to handover to the growing team of skilled specialists to lead the next stage - a key moment in a start-up journey.
From initial concept and incorporation in 2016, Sam served as a non-exec director until in January 2020 when he joined full time to support Scott Simpson and later Alex McLeod in their CEO roles. Using a range of experience to ensure investment, market and operational readiness, as COO and Business Development Director he was instrumental to securing funding, working with strategic stakeholders, linking sales, marketing, finance and operations to launch multiple products, establish distribution, develop impact reporting and supply chain partnerships. He will continue to support IndiNature as a shareholder.
Alex McLeod, CEO, said:
“With mutual agreement on timing for this transition enabling clarity in advance of next investment, the Board would like to express its thanks and gratitude to Sam for his effort, energy and resilience in navigating the start-up journey for the company. Sam's drive, determination and ethos has been so important to position IndiNature for the next phase of growth.”
Sam added:
“It has been a privilege to help lead the start-up phase for IndiNature. Thank you to the team for all your effort, our investors, funders and stakeholders for your backing and belief, and to all our partners and peers changing the world of construction and other markets – it’s been energising to work with you, keep it going!
The world needs more examples of companies like IndiNature, prioritising impact in communities and the local environment, and innovating products to mitigate and adapt to climate change. Nothing short of a natural industrial revolution is required to build a more circular bio-economy, and I wish the IndiNature Board, team and partners well in scaling IndiNature’s impact for the long-term”.
IndiNature continues to build the manufacturing infrastructure to further expand its impact in construction, open new markets for circular bio-economy products, and develop the supply chain for industrial hemp and recycled fibres.
