Joe brings an impressive breadth of experience to IndiNature across finance, construction, natural fibre and farming – plus a strong ecological ethos.

Joe spent two decades successfully shaping and leading transformational growth strategies, often with an international angle, in small and large businesses. He did this firstly in the context of a European buy-and-build strategy in sustainable building products for SIG plc, a FTSE 250 European distributor and merchant of building products, including insulation products and systems, where he was Head of Strategy and Business Development (2004 – 2013).

While CEO at British Wool (2016 – 2021), he led a consumer brand and product development strategy in the UK and China. Between SIG and British Wool (2013 to 2015), he was an investment director at LDC, the private equity arm of Lloyds Bank. Here he made a number of successful investments and sat on the board of investee companies, including at MKM, a leading independent builders’ merchant. 

Joe is currently farming sustainably on a part-time basis in Aberdeenshire in partnership with his wife, Christine, and is also a certified professional legal and financial translator from French to English.
